Our philosophy is simple. We help people no matter where they are today. It’s about where you want to go that matters. We do this by helping each one of our clients define their goals, implement a plan, create wealth, and ultimately create time freedom. There are probably a lot of financial planners who promise the same thing. It’s how we get you there that’s different.
We believe that one of the most significant gifts we can give to our clients in the getting to know you phase is to not talk about their money! Instead, we want to know what motivates you? If money were no object what would you do with your time? We believe answering those kinds of questions will help us when we finally talk about your money.
Many advisors are trained to only talk about your money and forget to ask the most important question – what do you want your money to do for you?
Once we have those questions answered and we know what is important to you, it is time to figure out what kind of assets you currently have so we can help you gain traction in your goals.
This is the time where we take into account all of your assets. You might have a business, rental properties, life insurance, 401k, IRA accounts and Roth accounts or some other mix of assets. We show you how all of them can work together to achieve your goals. If you’ve had a bad experience with other advisors we are confident after this stage is over you will be engaged with your finances in a way you never thought you would be! After this stage you will have a clear cash flow plan to move forward and the best part is it won’t be subject to what is going on in the stock market. You will be fired up about your goals and you will know what they are.
We think of the first 12 month period following defining your goals as the profit period. In this stage you can expect that we will be meeting with you each quarter to make sure you are gaining traction on your goals and cash flow plan. Our goal in this time frame is to understand what your true potential is to grow wealth. To do that we need to understand where your money is going and our cash flow plan is the perfect diagnostic tool. We believe that you are your best asset and during this phase you will understand that as well. Once we can start using your cash flow to achieve your goals, you will gain confidence and start feeling like you are winning the game. The goal of these twelve months is to understand what your true after-tax profit is.
After the first phase, we get to building in a big way. Our goal is to use the true profit and help you take steps to achieve your goals that we talked about the first month we worked together. Many times that will produce more cash flow that will help make a bigger profit and a bigger life. By now, you’ll be accustomed to having your money work for you. We hope that when you are in this phase you are seeing the hard work of your cash flow truly pay off! We want you to ask yourself, why wait to retire when I can do the things I love right now? Residual income is something that is talked about a lot in this stage and whenever the cash flow from your hard work has matched or exceeded your base level of expenses, you have moved on to time freedom!
Retirement is what most financial planners like to talk about. We think that’s thinking too small. For us it’s all about time freedom. Retirement implies that you need to be 65 in order to achieve this stage of being able to do what you want to do, when you want to do it. Why wait?
You have achieved true time freedom when your residual income exceeds your base monthly expenses. From there, you get to choose where you invest your time and talents.
